Description

The Transnet Freight Rail Young Professional-in-Training Programme is a structured two-year graduate development initiative designed for unemployed South African graduates (ages 18–35). Participants receive both institutional and on-the-job training, supported by mentorship, with progress assessments every six months. The programme equips graduates with practical work experience, increasing their employability in their field of study. Successful candidates will be placed in Johannesburg.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the two-year structured graduate programme, including mentoring and on-the-job training
  • Assist in ergonomic assessments, human factors studies, and workplace design improvements
  • Support the implementation of safety, efficiency, and productivity initiatives within assigned departments
  • Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to enhance workplace systems and employee wellbeing
  • Uphold Transnet’s values of integrity, professionalism, teamwork, and customer focus

Qualifications

  • Qualification: Honours or Master’s degree in Ergonomics or Human Factors-CSO
  • NQF Level: 9
  • Experience: No prior work experience required
  • Citizenship: Must be a South African citizen
